I guess I should comment on the current state of affars as SJP as I am one of the 52,000 lucky ones who go to the match. The tone for Saturdays match was set at 14:30 when the team was announced, I was sat in a queue on Gosforth High Street and started shouting at the radio for telling me the discrace that is Steven Carr was playing and Milner was not. Knowing I couldn't change Glenns mind I looked around me to calm down only to see the men in the car next to me shouting at the radio due to team selection.

What did we learn on Saturday.

Carr is not good enough, if anything goes wrong his first reaction is who can he balme, a disgusting attitude for a supposidly senior player.

Baba is not good enough, but we have few alternatives.

Butt and Parker cannot play in the same team together as long as it is set up like Saturday.

Duff is invisible from pitch level. That is the only way I can explain players refusal to provide him the ball when he was wide open.

Glenn shouldn't be in charge of making substitutions. It was obvious Solano was our best player and Carr the worst, so Nobby comes off to make way for Milner, who looked lively from the off.

What would I do now?

From the players we have fit and available I would make changes and blood the youngsters. We already know there is to be a clearout in the summer, lets start now. If we can afford 300 Million to build seats no-one will want we can risk losing value on crap players to bolld youngseters. I'd start like this on Saturday. I said before Butt and Parker couldn't play together but I believe if you introduced attacking fullbacks like Solano and Duff you would need the extra protection. In the middle of defence I would give Edgar a couple of games alongside Tayls who is bang on form at the minute. The only decision I struggled with was the subs. I might be tempted in starting with young Carrol as well and leave sibi on the bench. The only reason I didn't here was the experimental defence and young wingers.
